Find out the size of extracted tar file

 Dear experts,

 I have a tar file size of 8.7G. I want to know how much space will it take after extracting it to any mount point.  Before extracting, i want to know how much space will it take to extract it perfectly.


[root@abc abc_offshore_bkp_after_test]$ du -sh abc_middlware_bkp_after_test_30Oct13.tar.gz

8.7G    abc_middlware_bkp_after_test_30Oct13.tar.gz
