migrating a UFS metaset to new disks on the same server on Solaris 10

I have a non-global zone which is a full root, solaris 8 server on a UFS metaset made up of a number of disks which are all located on aSAN.

This metaset is shared between 2 solaris 10 global zones on solaris 10 servers.

We are able to manually fail over the disk set between the 2 global zones.

I now have to migrate the non-global zone to a new SAN.

I was wondering what is best way of doing the migration.

The data on the current disks can be cloned to the new SAN, but it will mean the disk id's will change.

The other option is for the disks to be presented to the server, I add them in to a new metaset and then copy everything across using ufsrestore or cpio. However, the server I have to migrated has a lot of data and it would take a long time to do this.

Howdy, Stranger!
