Loyalty and Ordermanagemnt

Hi Gurus, could someone confirm that the standard behavior for a loyalty and oM integration is that for all OLI only if we are going to set the Transaction Type, and points then a Loyalty transaction will be created?
it is not mandatory to set Transaction Type for all OLI.
