How to find MDS tip meta data label ?

Currently, I have many labels on my MDS partition - is there a way to verify the current tip version of the metadata label. This is mainly to verify the current tip is as expected after operations like Promoting & deleting.

I have searched the mBean Operations and havent found any command to directly find this. However, have found some article that suggest using DB queries to determine the tip.

Please let know if there is any other straigh foward way to accomplish the same.
