Does install base support automatic addition/expiration of child instances for replacement scenarios

Hi All,

Does install base support automatic addition/expiration of child instances for replacement scenarios.

For example:

A service request has been created against item having configuration 1-2-3. In this case part 2 has to be replaced and 4 part is sent as replacement.

A charge line is entered with service activity code ship replacement, after submitting this order to OM and closing the closing line will this shipped part 4 automatically added to IB configuration in place of part 2.

Is this possible.
