Installing RAC for the first time

Hi,

I am planning to install RAC for the very first time and I have a couple of queries -

Q1. I understand that RAC will firstly need Grid Infrastructure installed and this comes as a separate software bundle. However does RAC itself come as separate software or is it part of the Enterprise Edition Database software ? i.e. does the Database OUI handle the installation of RAC ?

Q2. Where is the installation of RAC documented - is there a separate Manual or a Step by Step Guide ?

Q3. Does RAC only sit on top of Oracle Clusterware or is it still possible to put it on top of othere 3rd party / os or hardware vendor native clustering ?
