Oracle Linux QFS client. Can it do the cool Samba stuff Solaris Samba can?

Hi.
For one reason or another, I've found Solaris + ActiveDirectory binding to be an incredibly onerous task (complicated by my organisations AD structure). It's perceived that AD integration is much more "sane" with Linux. 

So here's a question for the experts where you can prove your deeper integration understanding.

One of the "nice" things about Samba on Solaris 10 (and maybe 11?) is that it's built by Oracle with a flag that allows this in the smb.conf:

vfs objects = samfs

In effect, allowing SAM-FS to "pass through" the "O" attribute or offline file support to Windows clients. 

Now, that's absolutely epic because it allows Windows users to browse shares that are offline. Not so good for Mac users. It's still completely broken for them (and has been for years) with no fix in sight.
