What are the support agreements with Oracle on changing configuration parameters on an ODA?

We are looking at possibly purchasing a couple of Oracle Database Appliance engineered systems for a couple of our internal applicaiton databases. I have a question about what changes if any can be made to "out-of-the-box" parameter settings specificaly around the operating system without consulting Oracle support? Do we violate the support agreement if we make changes to o/s kernel parameters, etc. without first opening an SR with Oracle support to get there recommendation on the changes we want to make?
