Payroll Debit-Labor/Billing/Equipment AAI

In employee set up, we require the Job Type as a required field. I am trying to add a Debit-Labor AAI for the default company 00000, the Job Type field turns red and indicates that blanks are invalid. What do I need to do so I can set up and AAI withould a designated Job Type?
