Long Text Field Character Limit

In the Service Request section, there is a field titled Action Taken. It is a long text field, allowing 255 characters. We have found that this is not enough space for our service team to effectively report their actions, and I would like to expand the character limit to 800 characters. Is this possible? If so, how can this be done? I have looked in the "normal" places that I would think this option would be available, and have had no luck so far. Any ideas?
