activity report in calendar layout

Hi,

I'm trying to run a report of activity to show what's happening in the current month or week. I would like to have the layout of the report show all the calendar days and be laid out like a calendar (if possible)

group calendar in CRM doesn't work for me because I don't want to rely on Groups.  Has anyone tried to do this?
