Item cost not capturing for requistion

HI,

Ver: R12.0.6

While making internal requisition, system not capturing price from item cost setup. It was showing zero

1. Why system showing zero instead of value

2. What is the functionality for using item cost for purchase requisitions, how it's helpful for end user

3. Is it possible to add cost for expense item.
