table data loss issue

  The application team is facing data loss for one table in the database ."Currently, we see the data from 5th August 2013 to date, however in the past we have seen data with dates beginning 2010 as well."
Can we troubleshoot how this data loss occurred ?   


And please advise how can we recover this table now from backup.This is 11.2.0.3
