Filters and Lucen Search Indexing

Hi
We have a asset definition where we added a filter
This filter populates keywords from associated assets into the current asset.
When we try to apply search index on this asset type the index is not created.
Is there any known issue with the attribute populated from Filter with indexing mechanism?
