Upgrade R 12.1.1 to R 12.2.2

Hello, 
Is there any document which describes the procedure to upgrade from R 12.1.1 to R 12.2.2 , and also is it possible to run on instance of R 12.1.3 and other instance of R 12.2.2 on the same server? What I have learnt that there are some major changes on the architecture level of both releases of 12.1.3 and 12.2.2 , so is it possible to run both the instances on the same server or not?
