License Plates-info re their use when a high % of picking is small qty FMCG from pick faces

When a warehouse has a mixture of pallet storage and large qty picking (which is suited to LPN processing) as well as high frequency of small quantity picking from 'open stock' pick faces, is LPN processing still suitable.  I have been unable to locate material regarding this aspect, including the replenishment of the 'open stock' pick faces from the pallet locations, and the impact LPN would have on a mixture of LPN stock in the 'open stock' pick faces where the specific LPN cannot be related to the unit.

Advice regarding this, or pointers to the material, would be really appreciated.
