Using Enterprise Scheduler Services for scheduling

Hi,
Quartz scheduler uses XMLP_% tables in metadata repository to manages the job execution.
Does Enterprise Scheduler Services use these tables for this purpose ?

Please provide a reference to documentation that explains how Enterprise Scheduler Services executes the job.
