Can WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 co-exist with Oracle 11.1.1.6 in the same Middleware home?

Hello,

Currently we have WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.6 installed in the same middleware home as Oracle Portal 11.1.1.6 on WebLogic 10.3.6. WebCenter Portal is installed in the WC_Domain, Oracle Portal in the WLS_Portal domain.

Because of functiona/business requirement, we need to upgrade WebCenter Portal to 11.11.8. There is no need to upgrade Oracle Portal and there is no Oracle Portal 11.1.1.8.

The issue we are facing for the WebCenter Portal upgrade is:

Do we need to separate WebCenter Portal from Oracle Portal to a new Middleware home, or we still can have the two products in the same Middleware home in different domain as now? After WebCenter upgarde, can WebCenter 11.1.1.8 co-exist with Oracle Portal 11.1.1.6 in the same middleware home without conflicts since they may share the same oracle_common?
