Smartview 11.1.2.5.000: Is there a way to make the active connection global for all open Excel workb

Our HFM users need to use the active connection in HFM Smartview for more than one Excel worksheet and/or workbook.  But he finds he must log in and have the active connection checked each time he opens a new Excel file (he generally works only on one HFM server).  It is time-consuming to keep having to set the active connection for each and every file he opens.

Our previous version of Smartview, v9.2, kept the active connection live for ALL Excel files.  Can this be done in Smartview 11.x?
