Organisation field in the Install Base

Hi,

There is a field on the instance which is called organisation ( INV_VLD_ORGANIZATION_NAME), I understand that when I manually create the IB then it gets defauleted from Service" Inventory Validation Org" Profile. If the serial number is created via a WIP completion. first time in the system, will this organisation be populated with the org in which this WIP was completed (as serial number is in that org)? If yes, later when I ship this serial number on sales order at a later time, will the Organisation field be later updated?
