Oracle Content server integration with Webcenter Portal Administration console

I have been reading through Oracle documentation to first install Oracle content server, then configure the content server.  But, I am missing the piece to create a connection to the content server and then view content through Webcenter Portal Administration Console (11.1.1.6).  This is my first try at this and would appreciate any help.  The error message that I get while in the Services tab within the Webcenter Portal Administration Console is,

"Documents service is currently unavailable as there is no default content repository connection.".
