ways to prevent delete on the table

 Is there a way to prevent the records to be deleted from the table.There happened a scenario in which a production table was dropped and recreated and since auditing is not enabled we could not check who did this
Can we restrict application users using database not to delete in their own schema?or any other possible resolution for this
