Swap on Oracle Enterprise Linux

Hi there,

i had a few situations where a Oracle VM (Linux 5.0) starts swapping - i have increased the memory and rebooted the VM - then the app is started, whereafter the swapping problem went away. However when i checked the free -m output there is only 425Mb of memory left - The buffers cache memory is still above 2Gb which is what i want. I still think there must be a way to let the app release memory in order to get rid of the swapping - how can i be sure the app has now enough memory - it
