Maximum length of Document Sequence Number

Dear Communities,
Is there maximum length for document sequence Number?  is it possible when auto invoice grouping rule is Sales order number and the sales order number exeeded the maximum length, so the autoinvoice only take a part of so number and it caused 2 sales order number created 1 Invoice? Please Advise.
