Receivables setup accounting

I am a newbie to AR so maybe this is a silly question but anyway, in AR we get income per accounting unit while the receivables account is central for the company.

 Is it possible to set up AR to get the receivables account also per the different accounting units? If so, where can I read about this, where is it done, consequences etc. 

We are on version 12.1.3
