Create Accounting Assets Issues after Upgrade to 12.1.3

Customer has a vanilla Assets implementation. After upgrade to R12.1.3, the create accounting process completed with a warning - though there was no indication of the issue in the log. It created an addition journal that debited and credited the same account, and created nothing for depreciation etc. The Subledger Perid Close Exceptions report showed errors whoch indicated that cross validation rules were the issue. Cross validation rules were disabled and the create accounting process completed successfully creating all journals. There would have however been no changes to the rules prior to the upgrade. Has anyone seen an issue like this?
