AR Distribution Table Update using Custom Source?

in EBS Customizations (MOSC) Question
Hello,

My client has the need to have the AR distribution table information to be consistent with GL (and therefore SLA as well).

I am working on a custom source to derive the needed account information. I am also updating the AR distribution table with the correct account info. ( I need to resort to this as I am learning that "Transaction Account Builder" (TAB) might not be available for AR yet)

If I proceed in this direction, will this be supported by Oracle? or is this considered as an intrusive customization?

I need to recommend this to the client based on this clarification.
