How To Setup 1 Legal Entity w/ 2 Branches in 2 Ledgers (Currencies)

This question equally applies to both the General Ledger as well as the Legal Entity Configurator modules in Oracle.  We have a legal entity (US-based Delaware company) with 2 branches (operating units) in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Australia (Sydney).  The branch in AE needs to account for its local activity in an AED-based ledger while the AU branch needs to account for its local activity in an AUD-based ledger (both ultimately translate and consolidate into a USD ledger).
The Legal Entity Configurator allows for the creation of 1 legal entity with 2 branches (as legal establishments); however, the general ledger only allows the legal entity to be attached to a balancing segment in the ledger setup (not the legal establishment).  And it also does not allow me to attach the same legal entity to 2 separate ledgers (one in AED and another in AUD for each of the branches) - once used it is simply no longer available to pick in the next ledger to be setup.  Are there any recommendations on how to achieve this properly in

Howdy, Stranger!
