Oracle installation - O/S and Oracle Binaries on LOCAL drives VS on SAN/NAS
Hi,
Normally when we install Oracle on any O/S, we use the local drives to install the O/S and Oracle binaries and all the database files on the SAN / NAS.
Now, is there any harm / downside of installing even the O/S and Oracle binaries on the SAN/NAS drives?
What is oracle's recommendation on that? Any best practices for this?
We need to install Oracle 11.2.0.4 on Oracle Linux 6.x and the IT folks are asking how important it is to install the O/S and Oracle Binaries on the LOCAL drive as they want it to be on SAN instead
