New Regime Tax Application on AR Transactions

Hello,

I am new to EBTax. We migrated from 11i to R12 and so did tax setups in AR. We have a new requirement now to setup a new tax group and to fullfil the requirement i had to create a new regime in R12.

Now my question is, is this new regime and tax rate will be customer specific or it can be applied automatically on the transactions? in other words if tax rate is not attached with the customer site, can it still be applied on the transactions automatically? Please respond.
