Here is the dilemma I have:
SA prepared me a Linux 6 box which I stilled 11g software on it.

I have a 10.2.0.5 database running on RedHat 4 box.

So in order to use udba to upgrade 10.2.0.5, I have to make it running on Linux 6 box. However, the 10.2.0.5 software cannot be installed on Linux 6. Of cause I can copy the 10.2 software over to Linux 6 box but that may cause some problem for udba.

Question here is that older database has to be able to bring it up (or running) on newer box with newer 11g software on it?

Of cause, I can always manually upgrade db which I have done many time in my career so it is time to use dbua to add flavor to my dba career.

Howdy, Stranger!
