Hi all.

I'm a newbie here and it's my first post so please bear with me whilst I give some background to the issue I have, and hopefully you may be able to advise me on.

We have a production problem where a particular SQL task we run annually has extended in duration from around 4hours (4years ago) to 20 hours (last weekend). The changes in data since then are only small and disproportionate to the time then job now takes. No other changes have been made either to the RDBMS which can account for the job becoming so long. Therefore the pressure is on to come up with a solution.
