Update to Account balances in prior fiscal year

Hi,

As required, we would need to post some journals in 2012 periods...These periods are closed, and we would like to open and post and close the periods.

Will it have any impact on the 2014 year end processing? We do not want have any financial impact for the year 2014.

I could think of Retained earnings account balance might get impacted...Will this change update the balances for 2013 and 2014 subsequently?'

Can you please share your thoughts or opinions.
