Expiring replacement item instance directly with subtype usage-setup

Hi,

Current scenario: Present when ship replacement subtype is used in SR then new item will be replaced agained the damanged item with status asset. and later RMA is performed to bring the damaged asset item  to Inventory and later it is 'Expired'  manually.

Change need:Insted of this can we directly make a setup to transaction subtype such that when ship replacement subtype is used new item should be shiped as asset and damaged item should be automatically expired in IB.
