Web Service Response Compression

 All,
We are working on a web service solution where a users' associated accounts are required to sent in Web service response. When we generate the XML, its around 3Mb and we see network latency in sending the response to external Systems.

is there a solution in Siebel to compress the web service response so that the file sent over the network is in Optimal size.
