Sub-element level cost from Cost history

 Hi, 
We are creating a custom report in Costing and for that we need to pick Sub-element level cost from Cost history tables for a particular item. I am aware that Oracle doesn't maintain cost history at Sub-element level, but is there any workaround/customization that we can do to show sub-element level cost for a particular date in the report.
