Auto Replenishment

I think I already know the answer to this question but throwing it out there incase I am overlooking something.

Our operations are setup with a warehouse that holds bulk storage of inventory and several manufacturing locations where assembly occurs.  Fixed replenishment requests are used to move smaller quantities of parts from the warehouse to the individual assembly locations to keep them stocked.  Fixed picking is used to pick parts from the assembly locations to a staging location, as defined R31410, to then be issued to work orders.

Along with standard components that are relatively high volume, we have a handful of lower volume parts that are only used for certain rarely ordered options.  We may only have 2-3 of each part on hand at any given time.  These low volume parts go into options offered on almost all of our models, so they could be needed across any of our assembly locations.  We don't have, or want to carry, the inventory necessary to stock these parts in each assembly location.  Our solution at this point is to set these items up to use random picking from the warehouse

Howdy, Stranger!
