Deferred: 450 too many emails from this sender (rate controlled)
I have thousands of messages in /var/adm/messages of the following format:
Jan 10 10:50:08 this.host sendmail[10163]: [ID 801593 mail.info] s0AGo79Y010157: to=<just.an.example@gmail.comx>, ctladdr=<me@this.host.edu> (349/301), delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=esmtp, pri=136049, relay=mailhost.this.edu [nnn.nnn.nn.nn], dsn=4.2.0, stat=Deferred: 450 too many emails from this sender (rate controlled)
Note that the domain name on the "to=" looks good except for the "x" at the end. My question is what server gave the email a status of "Deferred: 450 too many emails from this sender (rate controlled)".
nslookup gmail.comx returns:
** server can't find gmail.comx: NXDOMAIN
