Minimizing outage time for 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4.1 upgrade/patch of GI and DB homes
Hi,I am upgrading my 11G Grid home and database homes. I am trying to minimize the outage time for my databases as almost all of the outage time will need to be out of hours for myself and fellow DBAs.
Environment is Linux X86-64, Grid home is 11.2.0.3 and DB Oracle home is the same.
Since this is an out of place home upgrade I assumed that I could perform some of the install without having to take an outage of the Grid infrastructure and databases. Is this not true?
All the doco I see talks about rolling upgrades to clustered databases and/or using the GUI. I want to use a response file to speed up my down time and minimize the error.
