Backup jobs on 3 node cluster with no shared disk

Hello All,

11.2.0.3 RAC on Solaris.

We are looking for solutions or recommendations for running our backup jobs if the primary node goes offline for a significant amount of time.
 
Currently we have a three node cluster on CRS with ASM on Solaris.

Issue: HP states we cannot user shared disk if we are using a file system. Is this correct? 

It was my understanding that we can utilize shared disk running in cluster ware services.
