Bonus Depreciation Methods

I am setting up tax books for the first time on EBS 12.1.3.  For assets eligible for the 50% Bonus Depreciation, I used the depreciation method MACRS 50B HY.  I expected that it would have put the 50% bonus into bonus depreciaiton and the remainder into depreciation but it put everything into depreciation.  Am I missing a step here? Or is this normal operation?  THanks in advance for any help.
