IRM steps to upgrade from siebel version 8.1.1.5 to 8.1.1.11

 Hi ,
We are planning to upgrade Siebel (Open UI) from 8.1.1.5 to 8.1.1.11. I understand  below steps should be performed. As per bookshelf, the steps are 
1. Perform 8.1.1.11 FP installation (Migration installation) 
2. Run IRM

We are on AIX platform. Gone through Database Upgrade guide  and not clear some IRM steps.  End-to-end flow of IRM  can be done on the  Database Server with configuration wizard ?

Examples : ---

1) Siebel Database Upgrade Guide > Performing the Siebel Incremental Repository Merge > Process of Meeting the Requirements for an Incremental Upgrade of Siebel Innovation Pack 2013, Using the Incremental Repository Merge >Before You Begin 
This step says to install Siebel Server and Siebel Tools be installed on the same Windows computer. If the Siebel Enterprise server is not installed on the same computer as Siebel Tools, then map a network drive from the computer where Siebel Tools is installed to the computer where Siebel Enterprise Server is installed.
