The AutoConfig instantiated 10.1.2 sqlnet.ora does not maintain my customizations
You may find that recent patches are creating the Application Tier sqlnet.ora file without a reference to the ifile. This is occurring on E-Business Suite release 12.x with a 10.1.2.x $ORACLE_HOME.
The most commonly known patch to cause trigger this issue is the APR 2013 CPU patches. The culprit file is the NetServiceHandler.java version 120.19.12010000.8. There may be other patches that deliver this file.
The most common implication of this is that Oracle Application DBAs are not able to maintain any customization for the sqlnet.ora file. Any customization is added to the referenced ifile. When AutoConfig instantiates the sqlnet.ora in the 10.1.2 $ORACLE_HOME, a reference to the ifile is not added and any customization to the sqlnet.ora file is not added.
