re-post to Application Express forum - Apex listener fails to start after being deployed to Weblogic

I am seeing this error when I try to start the apex.war file in weblogic:

when I look at the bdb directory the directory created in the apex home. directory

weblogic@hct641lwlsra309$ pwd

/u01/app/fmw_product/wlserver_1036/apex_home/apex/bdb

weblogic@hct641lwlsra309$ ls

ael-GghyJUefB2S18PKQ3UYECg

it's looking for a different directory?

any ideas on this?
