Database performance issue

Hi Gurus,

Yesterday my production database preformance was really bad and appeard like hung and i was assign the task of finding the RCA for it.I have 11gr2(11203) RAC database on RHEL 6.1 with dataguard and golden gate on the same cluster(same $OH) as that of primary production db.

Below is the AWR report while database was slow/hung.The top wait events appeared to be system IO and avg time seems very high,is this a repell effect of IO subsystem being slow or is that either golden gate or dataguard processes are impacting the primary db .

Please guide me in the right direction.
