How to record promised date where international commercial term is FOB?
Hi!
Lately we are actively buying equipment overseas and uses the incoterm (international commercial term) FOB. FOB means Free-on-board where the supplier promises delivery of our equipment free-on-board any vessel at a certain port of origin, let's say a port in Germany.
The system promised date is the date a supplier promises delivery of the equipment; which in our case I think is up to here at the ultimate destination, where we can perform system receipt (not in Germany where we don't have an office).
If the responsibility of the supplier is up to the port in Germany only, but the system promised date is intended up to here at final destination. How should the promised date be recorded?
