BI Publisher parameters when using OBIEE analysis as the data set

Hi everyone

I created a BIP report with an existing OBIEE analysis as the data set in the data model. I'm getting stuck with parameters though.

In the Data Modeling Guide for BIP, section 2.8.1, the following text appears: “Parameters and list of values are inherited from the BI analysis and they display at run time. The BI Analysis must have default values defined for filter variables.”

When it says Parameters and LOV’s are inherited from the BI analysis, what is it referring to in the OBIEE analysis?  And when it says “filter variables” what is it referring to in the OBIEE analysis? I don't quite understand what I need to do on the OBIEE analysis side, to enable parameters on BIP report side...?

Howdy, Stranger!
