Supplier Split Percentages and MRP planned orders

Hi,

I'm investigating the use of supplier splits to manage committments to multiple suppliers for certain raw materials.  I'm finding conflicting information on how MRP works with this concept.  Will MRP look at supplier splits when generating planned orders or can you make those assignments through processing detailed messages?  We're on JDE Enterprise One 9.1
