materialized views complete refresh fails with ora-1555

 The application team is executing a complete refresh of several materialized views on a daily basis. Some times some of these views are failing with ORA-1555
01-21-2014 12:24:39 Error while refreshing mview: DSHBRD_BILL_DT_SUM_MV Refresh type: cccc. The error message is: ORA-12008: error in materialized view refresh path
ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P005, instance naep11x01.na.discoverfinancial.com:pdcint201 (1)
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 22 with name "_SYSSMU22_3847035410$" too small

The app team states that there materiialized views are being refreshed after the batch proceessing finished and thus there are no DML commands running against the oracle tables while they are read as part of the refresh.
