Separate EAR on EBS 12 Application Server OC4J

Hi,
I want to develop few new Web based forms for some custom functionality. It will be packaged separately and will mostly operate on data held in custom tables in Oracle DB.

Question I have are:
1) Can I install a separate EAR on Oracle AS 10.1.3 that is part of R12 setup?
2) Even if deployment of separate EAR on Oracle AS is possbile, Is it recommended not to do so?

Basically, I have to make decision to get a separate J2EE application server or use existing Oracle AS if possible?
